Overview
Relationships within sunfish city guide NPC interactions between the player and other NPC characters. The relationship the player has with NPCs can provide subtle to noticeable differences when interacting with them, alongside providing minor/major bonuses.
Relationship Value
Relationship Value determines the characters base interaction with the player. All characters will start with a neutral relationship value of 0 upon start of the game. Interacting with NPCs upon various methods will increase their relationship value. Below will list the current tiers in a relationship and their associated values.

Gifting
- Three times per week, the player is allowed to gift an item to an NPC. Depending on their current traits they will have different preferences to certain items. Higher valued items tend to provide higher relationship values when given.
Giftable items include the following:
- Items purchased from shops that sell gifts
- Items purchased from vending machines
- Food cooked at home
- Caught fish
NPC Growth
At certain periods of time, there will come a point when the player may be able to notice something different about an NPC. If their relationship is at least of acquaintances, they would be able to ask and have the NPC acquire a new trait. the trait obtained by the NPC can either be relating to their current job, or dependent of certain personality traits the player may have.
Bonds
Bonds are relationships that characters NPCs have with other characters. the player may ask an NPC on their relationship with others, or the player may either talk bad, compliment, or make amends between two different NPCs.
Events
When Conversing with a character NPC, they may sometimes have events flagged that they may talk about. These events will signal either an increase or a decrease in relationship value an NPC has with another NPC.
